The CritterView birdhouse is designed and developed using off-the-shelf products, and purpose-modified by  hand. 

The CritterView birdhouse lets you glimpse into the hidden lives of local wild birds such as nuthatches, chickadees, titmice, wrens, bluebirds, barn swallows, and other similarly sized cavity and box nesters. The CritterView birdhouse is specifically designed to accommodate Blink Outdoor wireless cameras but can also be used with other small remote cameras.

Out of the box, CritterView supports (but does not include):

• Blink Outdoor generation 3

• Blink Outdoor generation 4

• Blink Mini generation 1. 

Other small remote cameras can be adapted with a bit of DIY customization. Check the tech specs below for more details.

CritterView Birdhouse Tech Specs

Approximate nest box internal dimensions: 

• 8.5" high (lowest point)

• Just over 4" wide

• Just over 4" deep (front to back when door is closed)

Internal dimensions for the camera enclosure on top:

• 5.2" wide, 3.2" front-to-back (Latch side to hinge side)

• 2.6" deep (underside surface of lid to bottom of box when lid is closed)

• The pre-cut viewing hole in the bottom is between 2.75" and 3". 

• The external cable management port in the side of the blink box is .75" in diameter

Do I Need Special Tools and Skills for CritterView?

No special tools are required for installing supported Blink cameras in CritterView. Some DIY may be necessary for incorporating other small remote cameras. With your Blink camera installed, you can wirelessly capture videos and images within 30 minutes.
